The MG T-Type is a series of open-top 2-seater sports cars produced in from 1936 to 1955. The series included the MG TA, TB, TC, TD and TF models. The last of these models was the TF, which was replaced by the MG MGA in 1955. The TF name reappeared in 2002 on the MG TF sports car with the engine in the middle.
The MG TF was launched in October 1953. It received a facelift, a new pressurized cooling system and was powered by a 1.3-litre I4 engine with 57 hp (42 kW). In 1954 the engine capacity was increased to 1.5-litres with which also increased the power to 63 hp (47 kW). The cars had rear-wheel drive and a engine located in the front, which was connected to a 4-speed manual transmission.
