Ferrari America is a series of high-end Ferrari sports models produced in the 1950s and 1960s. They were large touring cars with V12 engines and often had bespoke bodywork. All America models had an active axle in the rear, rear-wheel drive and the engine located in the front.
The Ferrari 340, produced in the years 1950 – 1952 was America’s first model. The car was powered by a new 4.1-litre V12 engine, developed for Formula 1 racing, with 217 hp (162 kW). The engine was mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It was sold as a 2-door coupe and roadster. The first two examples were converted from the Ferrari 275 S and In total only 25 copies were produced. In 1951, 340 America won the Mille Miglia.
