The Triumph TR7 was a 2-door sports car produced in between 1975 and 1981. It was sold as a coupe and roadster. The car was typical of its “wedge” shape. It was rear-wheel drive and was available with a 2-litre I4 engine with 105 hp (78 kW) or a 3.5-litre V8 engine with 135 hp (101 kW).
The model with the I4 engine was able to reach a top speed of 176 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds. The version with V8 engine and minor interior modifications was later renamed TR8. There was a choice of 4-speed, later 5-speed manual and 3-speed automatic transmissions. A total of about 115 thousand units were produced, including 28,864 convertibles and 2,800 TR8s.
