Ferrari 308 were 2-seater sports cars produced in between 1975 and 1985. They were sold in Berlinetta and Targa top versions. They had rear drive and the engine located in the center rear. They replaced the Dino 246 GT/GTS. The similar 208 GTB and GTS were equipped with a smaller 2-litre engine.
The Ferrari 308 GTB was unveiled at the 1975 Paris Motor Show as a complement to the 2+2 Dino 308 GT4. Until 1977, the body of the car was made of glass-reinforced plastic, which allowed a very low weight (1050 kg). Later, the switch was made to steel bodies. The car was powered by a 2.9-litre V8 engine with 252 hp (188 kW), which was mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
