The MG T-Type is a series of open-top 2-seater sports cars, produced in the years 1936-1955. The series included the MG TA, MG TB, MG TC, MG TD and MG TF. The last of these models was the TF and it was replaced by the MGA. The TF name was revived in 2002 on the MG TF sports car with the engine in the middle.
The MG TF was launched in in 1953. It received a facelift, was equipped with a TD Mk II engine with 57 hp (42 kW), headlights and a new pressurized cooling system.
In the middle of 1954, the engine capacity was increased to 1.5-litres, which increased the power to 63 hp (47 kW). The car was designated TF1500 and distinguished by an enamel plate on both sides of the bonnet. A total of 9602 examples of the TF were produced.
