The Alfa Romeo Spider is a 2-seater roadster with engine at the front and rear-wheel drive produced in four generations from 1966-1994. The last Spider of this series was produced in April 1993.
It was Alfa Romeo’s last rear-wheel drive car before the 2007 8C Competizione. In 2012, FCA Italy and Mazda were thinking about jointly developing a new Spider for 2015 based on the Mazda MX-5 platform. In the end, however, they decided to produce a modern interpretation of the Fiat 124. A total of 4,848 examples of the second series were produced in 1970-1982.
