The Chevrolet Corvette is a luxury sports car produced since 1953 in eight generations (designated C1-C8). The Corvette is known for its performance, style, lightweight fiberglass or composite body and competitive price. Sold as a 2-door coupe and convertible.

The Chevrolet Corvette C3 was produced from 1968-1982. The engine and chassis components were mostly carried over from the C2, but the body and interior were new. The 5.7-litre engine replaced the old 5.36-litre engine, but the power output remained 300 hp (224 kW). Also available from 1969 was the all-aluminium ZL1 engine, which was quoted at 430 hp (321 kW), but was said to be rated at 560 hp (418 kW).
