The Maserati Quattroporte is a luxury 4-door sports sedan produced since 1963 (currently in its 6th generation).
Quattroporte III, so 3. generation of this car, was produced between 1979-1990. It got a rear drive and replaced 2. generation with front-wheel drive. The car was first presented to the press in November 1976 at the Turin Motor Show. The car was available with two front-mounted V8 engines, , a to 4.9-litre with 276 hp (206 kW) and a smaller 4.2-litre bespoke engine, with 252 hp (188 kW), which was phased out in 1981. There was a choice of a 5-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission. The Quattroporte III was the last of the hand-built Italian cars.
