The Porsche 944 was a sports car produced from 1982-1991, based on the 924 platform. It was a mid-level model with the engine located in the front and rear-wheel drive. It was available as a 2-door coupe or convertible.

Until the introduction of the Boxter and 997 Carrera, the Porsche 944 was the most successful car in Porsche’s history, with more than 163,000 units produced. After extensive design modifications in 1992, it was renamed 968. The Porsche 944 was available with 4 I4 engines, ranging from a 2.5-liter with 185 hp (118 kW) to a 3-liter with 208 hp (155 kW). One variant of the 2.5-litre engine was available with a turbo and was rated at 247 hp (184 kW). Vehicles were available with a 5-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission.
