The Ferrari 308 GTS (targa top) was a two-seater sports car produced from 1977-1980, first introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Its predecessor was the Dino 246 GT and GTS and successor was the 328 GTB/GTS. It was equipped with a smaller, initially atmospheric and later turbocharged engine. It was sold mainly in Italy. The body was made of metal, opposite the 308 GTB, which had a 1975-1977 body made of glass-reinforced plastic. The Ferrari 308 GTS was powered by a 2.9-litre V8 engine located in the centre, with 255 hp (188 kW), rear-wheel drive and a 5-speed manual transmission. In total, only 3,219 units were produced.
