The 1955 Jaguar D-Type is a race car designed specifically for “endurance” racing. It was particularly successful at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, where it won in 1955, 1956 and 1957.

The D-Type was powered by a 3.4-litre inline six-cylinder engine that produced around 250 horsepower and had a top speed of 240 km/h (240 mph). It was known for its innovative aerodynamic design, which included a long pointed nose and a fin that ran the full length of the body.

Thanks in part to its impressive performance and success on the racetrack, the Jaguar D-Type is now a highly desirable collector car.
