A 2-door coupe produced since 1976 that is nearly identical to the Plymouth Volaré. At the time of the Aspen’s production, North American automakers were downsizing the size and weight of their models in an effort to improve fuel economy, which is why the Aspen was originally classified as a compact car, but was later considered a mid-size car. It was available to buyers in a variety of variants, and this particular car is powered by Chrysler’s inline six-cylinder known as the 225 cu in Slant-6 (displacing 3.7L). It also includes power steering, air conditioning, disc brakes and AM/FM radio. Production of both the Aspen and Volaré was discontinued after the 1980 model year just prior to the introduction of the Dodge Aries and Plymouth Reliant, collectively known as K-cars.
