The BMW 507 is one of the most significant sports cars of the 1950s. It was created with the goal of appealing to the American market and demonstrating that BMW was capable of building a world-class luxury roadster. Although its production was financially demanding and only 252 units were built, it is now considered one of the brand’s greatest icons.
The body was designed by Albrecht Graf von Goertz, who created an elegant roadster with a long hood, short rear end, and distinctive side vents. The timeless lines of the 507 also served as inspiration for the modern BMW Z8, introduced more than four decades later.
Under the hood is a 3.2-liter aluminum V8 engine that produces 150 koní. The engine is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, enabling the roadster to reach a top speed of 205 km/h—an exceptionally impressive figure for the late 1950s.
