The BMW 503 is one of the most exceptional models in the brand’s postwar history. It was introduced alongside the BMW 507 and was intended to appeal to customers looking for a luxury GT for long-distance travel. The design was created by Albrecht von Goertz, whose work is among the most iconic in BMW’s history.
Under the hood is a 3.2-liter aluminum V8 producing 140 koní, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. For its time, it was a very refined and technically advanced car.
This particular specimen is extremely rare:
- one of only 78 Series I Cabriolets
- probably one of only 13 units shipped to the U.S .
- Original matching-numbers engine
- Completely restored between 2018 and 2023
