The Delage D8-120 Coach Aérosport is one of the most important French cars of the pre-war period. The bodywork was created by the Letourneur et Marchand studio, which was known for its elegant and aerodynamic designs. It was the Aérosport that became one of the highlights of their work.

This particular example is one of the rare early examples and its history dates back to the 1937 Brussels Motor Show. It later won several major awards, including Best of Show at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.

Under the hood is a 4.3-liter inline 8-cylinder engine, which has been mated to the luxurious Delage D8-120 chassis. The car was designed as a combination of comfort, performance and elegance.

The biggest attraction, however, remains the design itself:

  • aerodynamic fastback line
  • body without centre pillar
  • elegant mudguards
  • typical art deco style of the 1930s

That’s why the Aérosport is often described as one of the most beautiful French cars of all time.
