The Ferrari 275 GTB is one of Ferrari’s most iconic grand tourers. The model debuted in 1964 and represented a major technological step up from previous Ferrari GT models.

Under the bonnet was the legendary 3.3-litre Colombo V12, which produced around 280-300bhp depending on specification. The technology was also exceptional – the 275 GTB was one of the first road-going Ferraris with:

  • independent all-wheel suspension
  • five-speed manual transmission
  • transaxle arrangement for better weight distribution

This particular piece from RM Sotheby’s is an early “short-nose” example that retains a number of original details, including matching-numbers components.

Pininfarina’s design is one of the cleanest Ferrari lines ever:

  • long hood
  • low cabin
  • elegantly rounded back
  • minimalist chrome details

It is the simplicity of proportions that makes the 275 GTB one of the most timeless Ferraris in history.

In the classics market, the quality 275 GTB is one of the very stable and highly regarded Ferraris. The value strongly depends on:

  • short-nose vs long-nose versions
  • steel or aluminium bodywork
  • the originality and history of a particular piece
