The Buick Skylark is one of the most iconic American luxury cars of the 1950s. years. The model was created as a special edition to celebrate Buick’s 50th anniversary and quickly became a symbol of post-war American luxury.

The 1954 model continued in the style of the first Skylarks – the low silhouette, lots of chrome and bold two-tone combinations were among its main hallmarks.

Under the hood was the typical Buick “Nailhead” V8, which was known for its high torque and refined running. Output was around 200 horsepower, which was very respectable for the mid-1950s.

The design was based more on elegance than sportiness – the wide chrome grille, prominent fenders and a wealth of details created a typical American “luxury cruiser” character.

Today, the Buick Skylark represents one of the most stylish American classics of the 1950s, recalling an era when cars were designed with an emphasis on emotion and extravagance.
