The Elva Mk VII is one of the most interesting small racing cars of the 1960s. years. The Elva brand was known for producing lightweight sports cars designed mainly for amateur and professional racing.
The Mk VII version has been designed with an emphasis on the lowest possible weight and the best possible power-to-weight ratio. The bodywork was extremely low and simple, with everything subordinated to driveability.
This particular piece uses the Porsche flat-4 engine, which was popular for its reliability and sportiness. Combined with a very light weight, the car offered extremely agile driving characteristics.
The design is purely functional – the open cockpit, minimal overhangs and very low silhouette make the Mk VII more of a racing prototype than a classic road car.
The interior is minimalist and oriented solely towards the driver. Comfort is virtually non-existent – everything is subordinated to the driving experience.
