The Mercedes-Benz 250SL belongs to the W113 series, which is known by the nickname “Pagoda”. This name is due to the characteristic shape of the fixed roof, which is slightly curved inwards.
The model was introduced as a combination of a sports car and a comfortable grand tourer. Under the bonnet is a 2.5-litre inline 6-cylinder engine with around 150 horsepower, offering a smooth and refined ride typical of Mercedes of the era.
The design is clean and timeless – the long bonnet, soft lines and bold chrome detailing make this one of the brand’s most iconic classics.
This particular piece has a bright paint job and a sleek interior that looks preserved and period. The interior is geared towards comfort rather than sportiness, which matches the overall character of the car.
An interesting feature of the 250SL is its variability – the car was delivered as a roadster with a canvas roof, but could also be equipped with a removable hardtop. This allowed it to be used virtually as a coupe during the colder months.
