Introduced in 1968 as the successor to the 400 GT, the Lamborghini Islero was one of the brand’s elegant grand tourers. Unlike the iconic Miura, which was distinctly sporty and visually extravagant, the Islero looked much more restrained and conservative.
Under the bonnet is a 4.0-litre V12 engine that was developed by Giotto Bizzarrini and used in other Lamborghini models. Power output was around 320 horsepower, allowing a top speed of around 250 km/h (155 mph).
The bodywork was designed by Marazzi and is characterised by clean lines, a more angular design and less pronounced detailing, making the Islero look understated compared to other Lamborghinis of the time.
This particular piece has a dark lacquer finish and sleek chrome accessories that accentuate its classic character. The interior tends to be tuned in leather with an emphasis on comfort, matching its orientation for longer drives.
Interestingly, the Islero is one of the rarest Lamborghinis – only about 225 examples were made (including the Islero S version), making it a collector’s item.
