Jaguar E-Type (1971)
The Series III brought the biggest change in the E-Type’s history – a 5.3-litre V12 engine that improved smoothness and torque, but also moved the car more into the grand tourer category than purebred sports car. Compared to earlier versions, it also received a longer wheelbase, wider track and power brakes and steering, which greatly improved stability and ride comfort.
This particular piece has brown metallic paint, chrome detailing and classic spoke wheels, while retaining its typical proportions – a long bonnet, low silhouette and flowing lines. The interior combines beige leather, a black dashboard and a wooden steering wheel, which looks period and elegant.
However, the car is not in original condition – it has a V8 engine, which brings more power and reliability, but reduces its originality from a collector’s point of view. It is these “restomod” modifications that are increasingly popular today and often target a different group of buyers than classic originals.
