The Citroën 2CV is an economy car produced in France and several other countries between 1948 and 1990. It was sold as a 4-door saloon, 5-door hatchback, 2-door van, pickup and coupe. The car was available with front-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine, and on some models with four-wheel drive and a twin engine. It was introduced to the public at the 1948 Paris Motor Show with an air-cooled engine.
The car was available with several flat-twin 2-cylinder engines ranging from 9 hp (6.6 kW) to 33 hp (24 kW). These were mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. In total, just over 9 million examples were produced.
