The Riley Nine is one of the most successful lightweight sports cars of the interwar period. It was manufactured in England (Coventry) between 1926 and 1938. It was sold as a 2-seater saloon and a 4-door tourer with rear-wheel drive and the engine mounted at the front. In time, other bodywork variations became available.
The car was largely designed by the Riley brothers, one of whom was responsible for the chassis, suspension and bodywork and the other designed the engine. It was powered by a 1.1-litre I4 engine, which allowed it to reach speeds of 97 km/h.
