The Lamborghini Countach is a sports car produced in Italy (Sant’Agata Bolognese) between 1974 and 1990 as the successor to the Miura. It was sold as a 2-door coupe with rear-wheel drive and a mid-mounted engine. It is one of the many exotic designs developed by Bertone, which popularized the wedge shape. The car was introduced to the public as a concept at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show.
The LP400 S was introduced in 1978 as a continuation of the LP400. It was powered by a 345 hp (257 kW) 3.9-litre V12 engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An optional V-shaped rear wing was available.
