The Triumph Spitfire is a sports car produced in England (Coventry) and several other countries in five generations between 1962 and 1980. It was sold as a 2-seater convertible with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. The car was unveiled to the public at the London Motor Show. In total, around 315,000 examples were produced.
The Triumph Spitfire 1500 was produced between 1974 and 1980. It was powered by a 1.5-litre I4 engine with 53 hp (40 kW) for the American version and 71 hp (52 kW) for the European version. The engine was connected to a 4-speed manual transmission. In total, more than 95,000 examples of the Spitfire 1500 were produced.
