The Mercedes-Benz W128 is a luxury car produced in West Germany (Stuttgart) and Australia (Port Melbourne) between 1958 and 1960 as a replacement for the W180. It was sold as the 220 SE as a 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe and convertible with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine.
The car was powered by a 2.2-litre I6 engine with 115 hp (85 kW), mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. It was similar to its predecessor, the 220 S, with the exception of the injection due to which it is in the name E. In total, less than 4 thousand examples were produced.
