The Ford Model A is an automobile produced in the US and other countries from 1927 to 1932 as a successor to the Model T. It was sold in nine body styles with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was introduced to the public on December 2 in the company’s US showrooms in four basic colors.
The car was powered by a water-cooled 3.3-litre I4 engine with 40 hp (30 kW), mated to a 3-speed manual gearbox. In some European countries, due to taxes, the car was powered by a weaker engine. In total, more than 4.8 million examples were produced. Its successor was the Model B.
