Lotus Europa is the name of two different GT sports cars produced by the British company Lotus Cars. The original Europa and its Lotus variants types 46, 47, 54, 65 and 74 were produced between 1966 and 1975. The name was later revived in the Type 121 Europa S, which was produced between 2006 and 2010. The original model was sold as a 2-door coupe with rear-wheel drive and a rear-middle-mounted engine. In total, more than 9,000 examples were produced.
The Europa 2 series was launched in April 1968. It was powered by a 1.5-litre I4 engine and used the same mechanical components as the Series 1. Several key improvements were added, including electric windows and adjustable seats. The car could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.3 seconds and reach a speed of 195 km/h.
