The MG MGA is a sports car produced in England (Abingdon) and Australia (Enfield) between 1955 and 1962 as a replacement for the TF 1500 Midget. It was sold as a 2-door roadster and coupe with rear-wheel drive and the engine located up front. It was introduced in September 1955 and officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It represented a complete stylistic break from previous MG sports cars.

The car was powered by a 1.5-litre I4 engine with 68 kW (51 kW) and later 72 hp (54 kW). This allowed it to reach a speed of 157 km/h (157 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (97 mph) in 16 s. In total, just over 100,000 examples were produced.
