The Alfa Romeo Montreal is a sports car produced in Italy (Turin) between 1970 and 1977. It was sold as a 2-door 2+2 coupe with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was introduced to the public in 1967 at Expo 67 in Montreal as a concept, where it was exhibited without any name. It was given one by the public after the place of display.
The first production car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show with substantial changes compared to the concept version. It was powered by a 197 hp (147 kW) 2.6-litre V8 engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a self-locking differential. This allowed it to reach speeds of up to 220 km/h (220 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.4 seconds. A total of around 3,900 examples were produced.
