The Oldsmobile Toronado is a full-size passenger luxury automobile manufactured by General Motors from 1965 to 1992 in four generations. It became famous for its turbo-hydramatic transmission version, making it the first front-wheel-drive automobile produced in the United States since the demise of the Cord 810/812 in 1937.
The 1st Gen Oldsmobile Toronado was manufactured from 1965 to 1970 in Michigan (Lansing). It was sold as a 2-door coupe with front-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was powered by a 7-liter or 7.5-liter V8 engine, mated to a 3-speed aic transmission. The car’s power output ranged between 375 hp (280 kW) and 400 hp (298 kW).
