The Lancia Appia is a small family car produced between 1953 and 1963 in three series, as a replacement for the Ardea. It was sold in several versions, as a 3-door station wagon, a 2/4-door saloon, a 2-door coupe and a convertible with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. The cars were powered by a 1.1-litre V4 engine, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. In total, more than 100,000 examples were produced.

The Appia Sport was produced between 1961 and 1963 and was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. The front was similar to the GTE version, but the rear was more rounded. The Sport version is the only Appia with certain production numbers, as the company only started keeping detailed production records in 1960. In total, around 200 cars were produced.
