The Triumph Spitfire is a sports car produced in England and several other countries in five iterations between 1962 and 1980. It was sold as a 2-seater convertible with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was introduced to the public at the 1962 London Motor Show. A total of approximately 315,000 examples were produced.

The Spitfire 1500 was produced between 1974 and 1980. It was powered by a 4.5-litre I4 engine with 53 hp (40 kW) – American version and 71 hp (52 kW) – European version, mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The more powerful version was able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 13.5 seconds and reach a speed of 160 km/h (160 mph). In total, more than 95,000 examples were produced.
