The Alfa Romeo 1900 is a car produced in Italy and Belgium between 1950 and 1959. It was sold as a 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe and convertible with rear-wheel drive and engine located in the front. It was introduced to the public at the 1950 Paris Motor Show . It was an important breakthrough for the company as it was their first car built entirely on the production line and the first production car without a separate chassis.
The 1900 was powered by a 1.9-liter I4 engine with 90 hp (66 kW) in base form. In 1951, a variant with a more powerful engine and output of 100 hp (74 kW) was introduced. In 1953, a 2-liter version of the engine was introduced with 115 hp (85 kW). In total, more than 20,000 examples were produced.
