The Ford Torino is a mid-size “muscle” car produced between 1968 and 1976 (3rd generation) in the US and Canada as a mid-market competitor and “twin” to the Mercury Montego. It was sold with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was initially sold as a luxury variation of the Ford Fairlane.
The 3rd generation Torino was produced between 1972 and 1976. The 1973 model was sold as a 2-door hardtop and fastback and 4-door sedan and station wagon. The car was available with several engines, ranging from a 4.1-liter I6 to a 7.5-liter V8. These were mated to a 3/4-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission.
