The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (W121) is a luxury, sports car produced between 1955 and 1963 in West Germany. It was sold as a 2-door roadster with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was first introduced to the public as a prototype in 1954 at the New York Auto Show. In total, more than 25,000 examples were produced.
The 190 SL was an attractive but mainly more affordable alternative to the 300 SL, sharing its basic styling, detailing and independent suspension. The car was powered by a 1.9-litre I4 engine with 104 hp (77 kW), mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, allowing it to reach speeds of 173 km/h (173 mph).
