The Fiat 131 is a medium-sized, family car produced in between 1974 and 1984. It was sold as a 2- and 4-door sedan, a 5-door station wagon, and a 3-door van with rear-wheel drive and a front-mounted engine. It was introduced to the public at the Turin Motor Show in 1974. More than 1.5 million examples were produced in total and was replaced by the 124.
In 1976, 400 examples of the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally were produced for homologation. These versions were powered by a 2-litre I4 engine with 138 hp (103 kW). The cars used a standard gearbox and standard front disc brakes. In 1980, the race-spec engine produced up to 240 hp (177 kW).
