The Marcos GT is a sports car produced in 1964 – 1972 and 1981 – 1990. It was sold as a 2-door coupe. It was first introduced to the public as the Marcos 1800 in 1964, with a wooden chassis and a Volvo P1800 engine and a fiberglass body. Later models had a steel chassis and usually a Ford engine, although others were available.
The car was available with several engines, from a 1.5-liter I4 to a 3-liter V6, which were mated to a 4-speed or 5-speed manual transmission. The version with the 1.8-litre engine from Volvo had a power output of 96 hp (72 kW), allowing it to reach a speed of 187 km/h (187 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (97 mph) in 8.2 s. Due to its price, this version was a very slow seller, which later caused the engine to be replaced by the 1500 from Ford.
