The Volvo P1800 is a sports car produced in between 1961 and 1973. It was sold as a 2-door coupe and a 3-door shooting brake with rear-wheel drive and engine located in the front. The design of the car was designed by Pelle Petterson under the direction of Pietro Frua and mechanicals were derived from the Volvo Amazon series. It was sold as a tourer rather than a sports car.
It was powered by a 1.8-litre or 2-litre I4 engine that was mated to a 4-speed manual or 3-speed aic transmission. In total, more than 47,000 examples were produced. In 1998, one 1800s was certified as the private vehicle with the highest mileage (over 5.23 million km).
